Refugee claims can only be made by individuals who are already in Canada or arriving at a border, airport, or seaport.
You must have a well-founded fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
You must show that your government cannot or will not protect you.
You must prove there’s no other country where you can safely live or seek protection.

STEP 3: Eligibility Interview
Once your refugee claim is submitted, you’ll be scheduled for an Eligibility Interview with either IRCC or CBSA. This interview determines whether your claim can proceed to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) for a full hearing.
Our RCIC - IRB-licensed consultant will help you prepare by reviewing your forms, documents, and personal narrative to ensure your answers are clear, consistent, and truthful.
Here's what you get:
Pre-interview preparation session with your consultant
Review of possible interview questions
Guidance on presenting your story clearly and confidently
Post-interview support and next steps toward your hearing. Included with retainer services — no extra charge.

Here's what you get:
Official guidance on completing your IME and biometrics
Instructions on where to find approved panel physicians
Support in submitting results and keeping your records updated
Updates on what happens after completion
All appointments must be booked through IRCC-approved panel physicians and biometric collection centers.
After your eligibility interview, you’ll need to complete your Immigration Medical Exam (IME) and biometrics (fingerprints and photo). These are mandatory steps required by IRCC for all refugee claimants.
Our RCIC-IRB licensed consultant will guide you on how to follow official IRCC instructions and help you understand what to expect during these appointments.
STEP 5: Preparing for Your Refugee Hearing (IRB-RPD)
After your claim is referred to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), you’ll be scheduled for a hearing. This is your chance to explain your story and why you need Canada’s protection.
Our RCIC-IRB licensed consultant will help you prepare by reviewing your Basis of Claim (BOC), evidence, and personal narrative to ensure your presentation is consistent, truthful, and confident.
Here's what you get:
Review and organization of supporting documents
Guidance on hearing procedures and expectations
Preparation for possible questions and cross-examinations
Mock preparation session to build confidence
Hearing preparation is included with your retainer.
Each additional or rescheduled hearing will have a separate preparation fee.

Explanation of your IRB decision and its implications
Guidance on next legal or immigration steps
Support for applying for Permanent Residence (if accepted)
Review of appeal or reconsideration options (if refused)
Appeals or post-decision services (RAD/Federal Court) are billed separately based on case complexity.
After your hearing, the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) will either
ACCEPT or REJECT
your refugee claim. The decision may be announced at the end of your hearing or sent to you later in writing.
Our RCIC-IRB licensed consultant will explain your decision, guide you on next steps, and help you understand your options — whether you’ve been accepted as a Protected Person or need to appeal a negative decision.
STEP 7: Permanent Residence Application (For Approved Refugees)
If your claim is accepted, you will be recognized as a Protected Person or Convention Refugee. This means you can now apply for Permanent Residence (PR) in Canada for yourself and eligible family members.
Our RCIC-IRB licensed consultant will help you complete and submit your PR application accurately and ensure that all required documents and forms meet IRCC standards.
Here's what you get:
Checklist of required documents for you and your family
